Introduction
The level 6 Diploma is one of our most popular CIM qualifications! It is particularly popular with candidates who have at least 2 years experience in marketing role and who are keen to update, refresh or gain new knowledge and skills in marketing.
Its an ideal choice if you are, or aspire to perform at a management level within a marketing context in the workplace!
Course Content
The course is made up of mandatory and elective modules listed below.
Marketing & Digital Strategy
This module will enable you to take both a traditional and digital strategic approach to marketing planning, integrating digital strategy, models, frameworks and techniques throughout to achieve competitive advantage.
You will be able to recognise the significance of situation analysis and use techniques to assess the external and internal environments that enable effective decision making. You will also be able to apply all stages within the marketing planning process – from the audit, through strategic decision making, to implementation of plans across both traditional and digital channels.
Finally, you will learn how to manage resources and employ monitoring and measurement techniques that enable the achievement of strategic marketing objectives.
Innovation in Marketing
This module will enable you to take both a traditional and digital strategic approach to marketing planning, integrating digital strategy, models, frameworks and techniques throughout to achieve competitive advantage.
You will be able to recognise the significance of situation analysis and use techniques to assess the external and internal environments that enable effective decision making. Elective: The Digital Customer Experience
This module will enable you to take both a traditional and digital strategic approach to marketing planning, integrating digital strategy, models, frameworks and techniques throughout to achieve competitive advantage.
You will be able to recognise the significance of situation analysis and use techniques to assess the external and internal environments that enable effective decision making. You will also be able to apply all stages within the marketing planning process – from the audit, through strategic decision making, to implementation of plans across both traditional and digital channels.
Finally, you will learn how to manage resources and employ monitoring and measurement techniques that enable the achievement of strategic marketing objectives.
Elective: Managing Brands
This module will enable you to take both a traditional and digital strategic approach to marketing planning, integrating digital strategy, models, frameworks and techniques throughout to achieve competitive advantage.
You will be able to recognise the significance of situation analysis and use techniques to assess the external and internal environments that enable effective decision making. You will also be able to apply all stages within the marketing planning process – from the audit, through strategic decision making, to implementation of plans across both traditional and digital channels.
Finally, you will learn how to manage resources and employ monitoring and measurement techniques that enable the achievement of strategic marketing objectives.
Your Course, Our Answers

We find that most Diploma candidates feel ready to move to the next level and are keen to develop new or update their digital marketing knowledge and skills. It’s best suited to those already working in a marketing role, perhaps in a management, supervisory or operational context.
While you don’t need to have knowledge about digital marketing already, it will help if you have some exposure to it in the workplace. For example, if you have responsibility for social media, or website management, or digital campaigns.
Completing the Diploma assessments will require you to apply all learnings to solve real marketing problems and the output is often a valuable report containing action plans and marketing approaches that you can implement straight away in the workplace.
After completing the Diploma, you will feel much more confident about taking forward initiatives to make a real difference to the impact of digital marketing and proposing ROMI improvements! Check out the CIM entry requirements on the course page
Assuming you take one module after the other, sequentially, you can complete the Diploma in Professional Marketing within 9 – 12 months.
Alternatively, you can opt to complete it at a pace that meets your needs.
We deliver the content for each module over a three month period, with the aim of helping you to be ready to submit your assignment to CIM for marking. If you are not quite ready to submit your report, you can choose to submit at a later point in the year (but this might incur additional fees depending on the circumstances).

There are two costs to consider when completing a CIM qualification: CIM fees and our tuition fees:

CIM Fees are not included in our fees as they are payable directly to CIM at different stages of your course, they include:
- Membership fees at £65 pa
- Assessment fees* at £190 per module
*Based on successful completion at first attempt. Additional fees are required if resits are taken.
* Students are encouraged to become a CIM member within 30 days of starting a course.
