Marian leads the Consultancy, Qualifications and Training activities at the North West School of Marketing. An award winning Higher Education academic, Marian brings a wealth of experience in teaching and marketing education to the school.
Marian leads the Consultancy, Qualifications and Training activities of NW School of Marketing. She leads the delivery of all modules across the Certificate and Diploma CIM qualifications.
Marian is a strategic marketer who has delivered consultancy, research, and knowledge transfer projects across a range of sectors over 20 years.
Like all professional marketers, Marian recognises the importance of CPD and invests much time keeping up to date across the broad discipline of marketing. Her academic qualifications include an MA Marketing with Distinction, the CIM Diploma in Marketing, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Education from Ulster University, and Digital Marketing qualifications too. On top of this, she has been awarded a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy and elected to a Fellowship of the CIM!
Prior to establishing NW School of Marketing, Marian worked as a Lecturer in Marketing at Ulster University. During that time, she headed up strategic marketing consultancy projects for public sector organisations and eCommerce Knowledge Transfer Programmes with private B2B sector organisations.
From winning the Excellence in Teaching award 2016 at the Ulster University Student Union Learning and Teaching Awards (UUSULTAs) to the Ulster Marketing Champion 2007 Award at the All Island Marketing Awards (AIMA), Marian’s credentials are second to none.
Beyond these credentials, Marian is an active member of the Marketing community in Ireland and sits on the CIM Ireland Board as the Fellows Ambassador. She has delivered workshops for organisations such as Women in Business, as well as our own, Social Media and Digital Marketing workshops. Look out for her forthcoming “CIM Ireland Marketing Club” workshop in March 2020.
As a professional marketer, Marian has a long standing relationship relationship with CIM developed over many years, from leading the CIM accreditation for the advertising and marketing undergraduate programmes at the Magee campus of UU through to mentoring winning teams as part of the CIM Student Pitch NI competitions. It was Marian’s ambition to bring a CIM accredited study centre to the North West so anyone who wanted to study for a professional qualification in marketing could do so without having to travel too far from home. Currently, Marian is a Subject Examiner and Assessment Writer for CIM too!
Marian’s subject expertise lies within the broad topics of marketing, social media and digital marketing – and her education expertise lies within quality management having led the revalidation processes for 25+ undergraduate programmes.
